GamerScout Verdict
A curious 2D stealth detour with charm but limited polish; best for genre completionists with patience for rough game feel.

About Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India is a lean, 2D departure from the main series. You play as an Indian assassin navigating colonial-era stealth missions in tight, diorama-like levels where guards patrol predictable routes and you execute them from shadows. It's methodical rather than frantic: you hide, you scout, you strike. The pixel-art aesthetic and side-scrolling perspective give it more in common with Mark of the Ninja than any recent Assassin's Creed game. The problem is execution. Metacritic's 63 suggests a solid-but-unremarkable stealth experience, and that's generous. Level design can feel cramped and arbitrary, guards behave inconsistently, and there's not much reason to replay once you've learned the patrol routes. It's worth a few hours if you crave 2D stealth and don't mind rougher game feel, but it's not essential even for AC completionists.
