GamerScout Verdict
For series veterans who want familiar stealth gameplay in a different era, just don't expect the American Revolution to be the main event.

About Assassin's Creed 3
I went in expecting a straightforward Assassin's Creed set during 1775, but what I got was a story that treats history as window dressing for a personal revenge arc. You're Connor, a half-Mohawk assassin caught between two worlds, and the game's best moments come when it lets you climb, hunt, and slip through frontier outposts rather than sit through exposition about the Revolution. The stealth mechanics are solid if you've played the series before, nothing revolutionary, pun intended, and the colonial setting gives rooftops and forests a different flavor than previous games. The problem isn't the mechanics; it's the disconnect between what the marketing promises and what the game delivers. Expect less "fight for independence" and more "personal grievance simulator." If you're here for the parkour and assassination sandbox, you'll find enough to keep you busy. If you wanted the Revolution front and center, you'll be disappointed.
