About Adventures at the North Pole
Everything here runs through one loop: you walk, you look at the ground, and you decide what the marks in the snow are telling you. That single mechanic reframes the whole thing. Abandoned parking lots, half-buried sledge trails, the gaps between what an Eskimo leader tells you and what a shaman implies, all of it is evidence-gathering rather than puzzle-solving, and it asks you to be patient in a way most casual adventure games never do. The mystery of the ship Silent, its crew and its captain, has a genuinely good hook and a quiet, cold atmosphere that a bigger budget might have sanded flat. The trouble is that Dnovel shipped this into Early Access and the seams show. Interactions are stiff, the investigation rarely pushes back on a wrong reading, and the story stops well before it earns its ending. I can defend a slow opening when the payoff justifies it. This one has not built the payoff yet. Worth a look if you collect strange, small, under-covered adventure games and accept it as a sketch rather than a finished picture.
