GamerScout Verdict
A no-frills arcade wave shooter best for quick casual sessions, not weekend binges.

About 28 Waves Later
I went in expecting tower defense, came out with a straightforward horde shooter. 28 Waves Later strips back the complexity: you pick a character class, waves of enemies roll in, you shoot until they stop coming. No elaborate progression systems, no cinematic cutscenes, no multiplayer lobbies. What's here works on its own terms if you want something to pick up for 20 minutes between longer games. The core loop is solid enough for that role. Weapon variety exists, enemy types change as difficulty ramps, and the arcade rhythm has some appeal. But this is a 2017 indie title with a tiny footprint and zero post-launch support, so don't expect polish or deep replayability. It's a competent wave shooter for people who just want to shoot things without overthinking it.
