About Zombie Playground
I went in expecting a scrappy indie take on zombie action, and Zombie Playground delivers exactly that kind of rough-around-the-edges experience. It's an action-RPG hybrid that lets you explore environments, scavenge for gear, and fight undead hordes with melee and ranged weapons. The core loop of looting and upgrading has potential, and there's enough progression to keep you moving forward if you're patient with the janky animations and dated visuals. Here's the catch: it's a 2016 release with almost no community presence, which tells you something about staying power. The combat feels stilted, the UI is clunky, and performance can be spotty. If you're hunting for a disposable zombie romp with RPG flavoring and you've already burned through the usual suspects, you might find an afternoon's worth here. Otherwise, your time is better spent elsewhere.
