About World of Warcraft Ensorcelled Everwyrm (DLC)
I'll be straight with you: this is not a game, an expansion, or even a content drop. The Ensorcelled Everwyrm DLC is a single cosmetic item purchase for World of Warcraft - specifically, a flying mount in the anima wyrm family, visually tied to the Shadowlands aesthetic. If you have been playing WoW for any length of time and you know what a mount DLC is, you already know whether you want this. If you are new to the game and stumbled here wondering what it does, the short answer is: it makes your character look cool while traveling, and it scales automatically to your highest riding skill, functioning as a ground mount until you unlock flying. The item has one genuinely clever hook beyond just being a pretty ride. On the mount's back sits a Guiding Orb, and clicking it summons an NPC named Xolartios. If your character is above level 50, Xolartios hands you a quest called The Eternal Traveler, which tasks you with collecting 40 Echo of Mortality drops from mobs across the world. The drop rate is low and the grind is real, but the reward is the full Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog ensemble - a complete cosmetic outfit for your character. For transmog collectors, that questline adds tangible value on top of the mount itself. For everyone else, it is a nice bonus you will probably do once and forget. Originally this mount was locked behind the Heroic, Epic, or Collector's Editions of the Shadowlands expansion. Once Shadowlands was rolled into the base WoW subscription, Blizzard made it available as a standalone shop purchase. That shift in availability is worth noting: this is not a rare or prestige item anymore. Anyone can buy it at any time directly through the Battle.net Shop or the in-game store. The "Heroic Edition: Ensorcelled Everwyrm" feat of strength achievement does still get stamped on your account when you obtain it, which will mean something to achievement hunters and precisely nothing to everyone else. The value question comes down to how seriously you take your mount collection and your transmog wardrobe. WoW has over a thousand mounts at this point, and the Ensorcelled Everwyrm is a solid-looking one - the flowing anima particle effects hold up visually even years after the Shadowlands era. But it competes with dozens of shop mounts and hundreds of earnable ones. If your roster already has anima wyrm variants from in-game sources, the marginal appeal shrinks fast. The Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog set is the stronger argument for the purchase, especially if you are actively building outfit collections across multiple characters, since the unlock applies account-wide within your regional Battle.net account. Bottom line: this is pure collector fuel. It does exactly what it advertises, it works on every character you have and will ever make, and the bundled transmog quest adds a small layer of actual gameplay. But calling it a DLC feels generous - it is a shop item with a quest attached. Go in with clear eyes. Alex, Scout Team
