About Wizards Tourney
Think of the chaos of TowerFall or Duck Game, then swap arrows and pistols for fireballs, hexes and the occasional dirty trick. That is the space Wizards Tourney lives in, but with one difference that matters: it is smaller and softer than either. The wizards move with a floaty weight rather than the razor precision those games train you for, and the arenas are more playground than gauntlet. Made and published by a bonfire of souls and released in 2018, it wears its size honestly. Full controller support, split-screen, Remote Play Together, and the whole thing built around four people yelling at one screen. What works is the immediacy. Nobody needs a tutorial, the rounds are short, and the spell variety produces enough accidents to keep a room laughing. What disappoints is everything outside that room. Single-player is a thin shadow of the party mode, and the online lobbies for a game this small are quiet. Judge it as a couch fixture, not a solo purchase.
