About Webbed
Webbed is a 2D action-adventure made entirely by one developer, Sbug Games, and it shows in the best possible way. You play as a tiny jumping spider whose boyfriend has been kidnapped by a bowerbird, and the whole game is basically your cheerful, determined sprint to get him back. The movement is the star: web-swinging feels genuinely physical, with momentum you can build and redirect, and the moment it clicks you will start hunting for longer arcs just to feel it again. There is no bloat here. Every mechanic introduced gets used well, and nothing overstays its welcome. The world is split into small ecosystems, each with their own residents, side quests, and visual texture. You help a bee colony, befriend a dragonfly, navigate a swamp full of surprisingly expressive creatures. None of it is difficult in a punishing way, but the platforming has real texture to it, small puzzles that ask you to think about web placement, momentum, and angle. It rewards attentiveness without ever becoming frustrating. For a game aimed at being light and breezy, it has a remarkable amount of craft underneath. The art style is hand-drawn and small-scale, which suits it perfectly. The spider protagonist is expressive in a way that larger, more expensive games often fail to achieve. There is a warmth to the color palette, a softness to the animation, and the soundtrack matches that mood note for note. It is the kind of score you leave running after you have put the controller down. This is a game that cares about how it sounds and feels, not just whether its systems check out on paper. The runtime sits comfortably around three to four hours for a standard playthrough, and that is the right length. Webbed knows exactly when to end, delivers its moment of payoff with confidence, and exits cleanly. If you are the type who chases 100% completion, there is enough hidden around the edges to stretch that out, but the game never manufactures padding to get there. It is a finished thing, shaped with intention. The 98% positive rating on Steam with over fifteen thousand reviews is not a fluke. This is the kind of small game that spreads through word of mouth because playing it genuinely makes people happy, and then they tell someone. If you have been grinding through something dense and demanding and need a session that will leave you in a better mood than when you started, Webbed is a reliable answer. Kai, Scout Team
