Weather Lord: In Search of the Shaman

I spent a few hours with Weather Lord expecting a tower-defense reskin, but this is genuinely a tactical puzzle game where weather mechanics matter. You control a squad moving across grid-based maps, wielding fire, ice, and storm powers to soften enemy positions before melee range. The hook is resource management: casting weather costs action points, and poor spell sequencing leaves you exposed. AI pathing is predictable enough that you can plan three turns ahead if you bother to read the tooltips. The downside is brutal. Tutorials assume you'll piece things together through trial-and-error, and there's no difficulty slider or restart-from-checkpoint mercy. Maps are compact and replayable, but after your first win, the campaign structure offers little reason to return unless you're chasing optimal build orders. It's a 5-7 hour commitment masquerading as casual, and the 2017 release date shows in the UI polish. Worth a weekend if grid-based tactics and weather-combo optimization appeal to you, but don't expect AAA handholding. Diego, Scout Team
