War Beasts

War Beasts tries to stack a lot of moving pieces: land units (tanks, Titans), air swarms, naval forces, and space-based interceptor satellites all occupy the same playfield. The core loop is familiar tower defense, place defenses, manage resources, survive waves, but the addition of multiple combat layers theoretically creates interesting strategic problems. You're juggling anti-air coverage, ground armor, and orbital defense simultaneously, which should reward careful unit placement and resource allocation. The problem is that ambition outpaces execution. The UI is cluttered, tooltips are sparse, and newcomers will struggle to understand unit roles or cost-benefit tradeoffs without significant trial-and-error. The AI opponent feels inconsistent, and the free-to-play positioning (despite being a one-time purchase) hints at some balance tuning issues. If you're the type who enjoys experimenting with tower defense mechanics in rough-around-the-edges indie games, there's a kernel of something here. But expect a steep learning curve for minimal payoff.
