About Volkolak: The Will of Gods
This one asks for patience before reflexes. The opening hours move slowly through fog-soaked Slavic forest, enemies punish button-mashing, and bosses expect you to learn a rhythm rather than out-click one. Give it that, and the hand-drawn animation starts doing quiet work on you. Volk Team built a 2D soulsvania with real weight in every swing, and the folklore feels researched rather than worn as a costume. The branching identity is the point: play it straight as a warrior, lean into the beast and let the werewolf change how you move, or give yourself to the darkness and watch the ending shift. That structure rewards a second run, which is good, because a single pass is not long. The cost is a back half that leans on repeat encounters, and dim scenes where readability slips. Worth the walk anyway.
