I went in expecting either a tactical RPG or an action game, and Velev does neither particularly well. It's a 2025 PC release that sits awkwardly between genres, offering real-time combat encounters mixed with strategic planning phases. The action feels serviceable but lacks polish, and the strategy layer doesn't have enough meat to make it compelling on its own. You're managing a small roster, picking abilities and loadouts before each encounter, then executing fights that require positioning but don't reward it consistently. The core loop has potential for players who enjoy grinding and min-maxing, but the presentation and pacing don't justify the time investment. If you want pure action, this is too slow. If you want real strategy, it's too shallow. It's the kind of game that gets a niche following because it exists in that specific gap, not because it excels in it.
