For players who want to build a base and then personally drive a tank into it. Anyone expecting clean modern RTS controls should walk on by.

This one is for the small crowd who wants a build queue and a gunner's reticle in the same session, and it's a hard pass for anyone who wants clean RTS controls. Uprising 2 asks you to plant a base, set production, then jump into a vehicle and go fight the alien invasion yourself, which means your macro keeps running while your hands are busy. That split is the whole appeal. It's also why the campaign punishes anyone who can't decide fast: leave the base unattended and your economy stalls, sit in the command view and your front line dies without you. The honest problems are the controls and the interface, both stuck firmly in the late 90s and not modernised for this re-release. Order-giving is fiddly, unit AI needs babysitting, and there's no multiplayer to fall back on. But the base-building layer is deeper than the shooter framing suggests, and the vehicle combat has real weight. Treat it as a curio with a genuinely interesting design idea rather than a game that will feel good on day one. Diego, Scout Team

Worth it for hybrid-RTS curiosity seekers who can tolerate 90s controls; skip if you want a polished modern strategy game.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
