About Untamed: Life Of A Cougar
My first cub starved because I spent three in-game days chasing a deer herd across a ridge I did not control, and by the time I dragged the carcass home the den was empty. That failure is the best thing in here: territory is a real resource, marking it costs energy, defending it costs health, and a hunt outside your borders is a gamble you pay for in offspring. For a couple of hours the loop has teeth. Stalk, close, pounce, retreat, feed the family, expand. The problem is that the decision tree stops branching. Once you learn which prey give the best return per calorie spent, every subsequent hunt is the same input sequence with stiffer animation and worse collision. There is no meaningful upgrade curve, no AI worth outsmarting, no mod scene to patch the gaps, and the cub-raising layer amounts to a food meter with a timer. Mixed reviews are the honest read. This is a small idea executed once, not a systems game with a late game.
