Unichrome: A 1-Bit Unicorn Adventure
A punchy 1-bit run-and-gun that hands you a rainbow bazooka and never once asks you to take it seriously. Short, silly, and mechanically sharper than the art style suggests.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it for arcade shooter fans who want a couple of hours of loud, silly, weapon-driven action and nothing more.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Unichrome: A 1-Bit Unicorn Adventure
The weapon feel is the whole reason to play this. Super8bitRafa's shooting has real weight for a game rendered in two colors: the triple-barrel shotgun blast shreds a screen of enemies at close range, the Molotov leaves burning ground you can herd things into, and the rainbow bazooka is exactly the kind of overkill you want when a level starts crowding you. The horn-dash is the connective tissue, a quick lunge that doubles as a dodge and a repositioning tool, and once it clicks you stop walking anywhere. Homing bullets, automated turrets and ice beams show up as arcade-style spice rather than a build system, so the moment-to-moment is closer to a coin-op run-and-gun than anything with progression. What you should not expect is depth or length. The comedy is deliberately off-kilter and lands maybe half the time, the 1-bit presentation flattens some enemy readability in busy rooms, and there is no meaningful reason to return once the credits roll. It is a single-player arcade snack built by one person, controller in hand, best taken in one or two sittings. Judged on that scale it does its one thing well.
