Unemployment Simulator 2018
An apartment sim where the only system left to optimise is your own dwindling week. Bleak, funny, over in an evening, and sharper than plenty of games three times its size.
GamerScout Verdict
For sim players who want a mood piece with teeth, not a deep economy. Budget one evening and expect to feel it.
Compare Prices(4 stores)
Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Unemployment Simulator 2018
Papers, Please handed you a stamp, a quota, and a reason to get up. This one hands you an empty calendar and a balance that only moves one direction, and the missing quota is the point. The loop is small: wake in the same apartment, pick from a short list of things to do, eat, keep the welfare paperwork moving, watch the numbers shrink. Optimisation instincts will not save you, because the efficient play still loses ground. As a sim it is thin by design. Few systems, no build variety, a run that ends in a couple of sittings, so anyone wanting a deep economy should look elsewhere. What it does well is tone: the dark comedy never turns smug, and the routine earns its ending rather than lecturing you into one. Very Positive from 138 reviewers is a fair signal for something this small. Full controller support, Steam achievements, and one quiet evening.
