About Under Siege 2
The best thing here is pace. Under Siege 2 gets you into a fight within seconds of loading, and the whole loop of holding a position, thinning waves, and pushing back out is legible without a tutorial holding your hand. It's a small action title with casual-indie bones: light unit or weapon management, escalating enemy pressure, and short scenarios you can finish in a sitting. If you want something that respects your time and doesn't ask you to learn a systems bible first, that instinct is served well. What it doesn't do is grow. Variety thins out fast, presentation is functional rather than characterful, and there's no meaningful long tail once you've seen the enemy patterns. Released in 2022 with no real critical footprint, it lives or dies on whether you enjoy the first twenty minutes, because the next hour is the same shape. Go in expecting a snack, not a meal, and you'll get exactly what it's offering.
