Two of the best cinematic action-adventure games from the PS4 generation finally on PC, in a port good enough to make you forget they were ever console exclusives.

My first impression booting this up was simple: I could not believe PC players had gone this long without access to these games. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and its standalone follow-up The Lost Legacy represent the absolute peak of Naughty Dog's blockbuster formula, and this collection drops both on PC in a package that holds up startlingly well. If your action-adventure diet has been Tomb Raider and nothing else, consider this a long-overdue correction. The core loop is a rhythmic shuffle of three activities: free-climbing across lush, painstakingly detailed environments, cover-based gunfights with optional snap-aiming you can toggle off for more challenge, and environmental puzzles that range from light archaeology to tense mechanical traps. Uncharted 4 adds small semi-open areas to explore with a grappling hook and a jeep whose winch doubles as a puzzle tool, opening heavy doors and hauling the vehicle up muddy hillsides. The Lost Legacy shrinks the runtime to roughly eight to nine chapters but leans harder into stealth, letting Chloe Frazer silently clear rooms in a way that feels closer to Metal Gear Solid V than Nathan Drake's usual loud chaos. It also opens up an entire river basin in India for freeform treasure hunting, which is where the collection quietly earns its replay value. Collectibles are scattered intelligently: some in plain sight, many requiring genuine lateral thinking to find. The PC port, handled by Iron Galaxy, is worth discussing because there was real skepticism before launch given that studio's history. Those fears turned out to be unfounded. Performance is excellent across a wide range of hardware, with most mid-to-high-end rigs hitting well above 60fps at high settings, and the game is Steam Deck verified with stable performance at medium settings on Valve's handheld. DLSS and FSR 2 support are present, ultrawide and 4K resolutions work, and DualSense haptics function over wired connection. The one genuine annoyance is the frame-rate cap situation: the only lock available in-engine is 30fps, so anyone without a G-Sync or FreeSync monitor will need to cap it externally through the Nvidia panel or similar tools. Some players with certain GPU configurations have also reported crash-to-desktop issues, particularly in Lost Legacy's later chapters, though post-launch patches addressed most of the early stability problems. Mouse and keyboard controls are rebindable but feel less natural than a controller for a game that was designed around thumbsticks and face buttons. The absence of the earlier trilogy is the only real sting. Jumping straight to Uncharted 4 means arriving in the middle of a story that has years of relationship-building behind it. The game does enough to orient newcomers, and the emotional beats land even without the backstory, but players who want full context will need to track down the Nathan Drake Collection separately (currently PS4/PS5 only). There is also zero multiplayer here; that mode was cut from this release entirely, which only matters if you remember it fondly from the original PS4 version. What you do get is two single-player campaigns totaling somewhere in the 25-30 hour range for completionists, with writing and cinematic direction that still outpaces most of what the action-adventure genre has produced since.
