About Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
Tomb Raider asks for reflexes and a tolerance for being battered before it hands you anything. The opening hours are a survival horror gauntlet where Lara is bleeding, terrified, and armed with a bow she barely knows how to use. Only later does it turn you loose with a full arsenal, upgrade trees, and optional tombs worth actually detouring for. It is an action-adventure first and a tomb raid a distant second, and it is very good at the first thing. The Definitive Edition is the remastered package: rebuilt Lara model, improved lighting and hair tech, higher-resolution textures, and the full slate of post-launch extras rolled in, including the multiplayer maps and weapon and outfit packs that nobody remembers. That last part is the honest catch. The bundled DLC is mostly filler, and the multiplayer was dead on arrival. What you are actually paying for is the visual pass and the convenience of everything sitting in one install. If you own the original on PC and it runs fine, the upgrade is cosmetic.
