The Surge 2
A limb-slicing action RPG that trades Dark Souls polish for creative gore and genuine build variety, perfect for players who want to dismantle enemies for loot, not just dodge-roll.
GamerScout Verdict
Janky but inventive limb-slicing Souls-like that rewards creative builds over pattern recognition.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About The Surge 2
I've always appreciated when a game commits to a weird mechanical hook, and The Surge 2 leans hard into limb targeting. You're not just hacking away at health bars; you're strategically severing arms, legs, and heads to craft gear from your victims' parts. It's grotesque and tactile in ways most Souls-likes aren't. The combat feels slower and weightier than its inspiration, with a stamina system that forces patience, and the limb-based progression gives you genuine reasons to replay encounters with different builds. Where it stumbles: Jericho City's level design is functional but forgettable, enemy variety thins out in the late game, and the story beats won't stick with you like a properly written RPG. But if you're burned out on polished Souls clones and want something that feels genuinely different, something that rewards experimentation over pattern memorization, The Surge 2 scratches that itch. It's janky in places, sure, but the mechanical core holds up.
