None of these are deep strategy, but they give the expansion a light character-build flavor that the base Sims 3 largely lacks. Pair the right major with the right social group and you are essentially min-maxing a career outcome, which is satisfying in a low-stakes way. The campus itself is a self-contained world, which means your Sim temporarily leaves the home neighborhood. That is worth flagging for players with heavily invested home lots: the transition is clean, but it does create a kind of save-state pause on your broader household. Performance can also be a concern since The Sims 3 already struggles with memory bloat in the late game, and adding another world to cycle through does not help.
