The Shadow Warrior Collection (Xbox One)
A stylish melee-and-guns FPS that swaps the cover-shooter formula for aggressive close-quarters combat. If you've tired of tactical retreats, Shadow Warrior's lo-fi ultraviolence might scratch that itch.
GamerScout Verdict
For action fans who want an FPS that rewards aggressive melee play over cautious gunplay, despite rough stealth sections.

About The Shadow Warrior Collection (Xbox One)
I went in expecting another cover shooter and got something way more personality-driven. Shadow Warrior trades positioning and distance for pure forward momentum. You're rewarded for closing gaps and mixing sword slashes with shotgun blasts instead of hanging back. It's crude, loud, and doesn't take itself seriously, the story and characters are B-movie schlock, but that's the point. The combat loop works when you lean into it: parry, execute, reload, repeat. Levels are tight enough that running straight ahead feels less suicidal than it should. Where it stumbles is in pacing and some genuinely rough stealth sections that kill the aggressive vibe. If you want an FPS that remembers melee weapons exist and plays to that strength, this is solid. Just don't expect depth beyond the surface-level fun.
