The Oil Blue: Steam Legacy Edition
A three-crew oil rig sim where the real boss fight is a spreadsheet you never see. Patient, punishing, and quietly excellent if you like managing pressure gauges.
GamerScout Verdict
For sim players who want pure logistics pressure in short bursts, provided they can survive an unforgiving first few contracts.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About The Oil Blue: Steam Legacy Edition
Twenty minutes into my first island contract I lost a full barrel run because I was standing at the wrong machine. The extractor had finished its cycle, the pressure was climbing, and I was across the platform babysitting a coolant valve that did not actually need me. That is the whole game in one moment: three crew, one rusted rig, a quota clock, and the constant question of where your attention is worth more. Nothing shoots at you. The failure state is always a routing decision you made four minutes ago. What it does well is make logistics physical. You walk the rig, you read gauges, you learn the rhythm of each machine and build a mental loop that gets tighter every contract. The learning curve is steep and the game is not generous about explaining itself, so expect two or three washed-out islands before it clicks. It also stays minimal to a fault: the loop is thin by hour fifteen, and there is no mod scene or deep economic layer to carry you past it. Buy it for a focused twelve hours, not a campaign.
