I spent about two hours with The Maker's Eden, and it's exactly what it promises: a first-person hypertext adventure styled like a motion comic. You're an android figuring out who you are and why you exist in a retro-futuristic world that blends noir mood with early 20th century aesthetics. The writing does the heavy lifting here. Choices feel meaningful because they actually reflect different interpretations of your character's identity, not just flavor text branches. The trading-card system feels tacked on and doesn't impact the story, so ignore it. The real appeal is the world-building through dialogue and description alone. If you like Twine games, text adventures, or narrative-first experiences where atmosphere matters more than action, this scratches that itch. It's short enough to finish in an evening and won't overstay its welcome.
