About The Godfather II
I went in expecting a GTA-style power fantasy, but The Godfather II is actually a management sim dressed up in a gangster suit. You expand territory, recruit lieutenants, shake down businesses, and wage turf wars across multiple cities. The core loop of building your criminal empire is genuinely engaging when it works, and the licensed cast gives the fiction weight. But the combat feels dated, mission design is repetitive, and the UI constantly gets in the way. It's the kind of game where a great idea gets bogged down by clunky execution. If you're hungry for a different take on the crime genre and don't mind rough edges, there's a solid strategy game buried here. Just know you're signing up for some frustration alongside the mobster roleplay.
