Tails and Pines

I went in expecting a visual novel, and Tails and Pines mostly delivers exactly that. The hook is straightforward: two childhood friends bump into each other years later, both fundamentally changed, and the game sits with the awkwardness and hope of that reunion. The writing leans into quiet character moments rather than melodrama, which works when you're invested in who these people have become. The game is short and unambitious in scope, which is fine for what it costs. If you're burned out on branching-path complexity and just want a genuine conversation between two characters, this scratches that itch. Don't expect puzzles or real gameplay mechanics. This is about reading, listening to what's unsaid, and whether two people can find their way back to each other. It won't blow your mind, but it's honest about what it is.
