Sword of the Vagrant is a 2D action-platformer that leans hard into fighting game mechanics mixed with platforming gauntlets. The combat system is where it shines, combo-driven, responsive, and rewarding enough to make you chase high scores on individual stages. The problem is everything else feels underscrubbed. Level design is functional but uninspired, checkpoint pacing can be punishing, and the overall presentation screams budget indie rather than polished product.
