About Steep: X Games Gold Edition
Steep asks for a lot before it pays out: an hour of eating snow on ice-hard slopes while you learn a physics model that punishes panic-carving, and the patience to ride a mountain with no objective waiting at the bottom. Once it clicks, Ubisoft's open Alps sandbox (snowboard, ski, wingsuit, paraglide, all swappable mid-drop) is one of the calmest things you can do with a controller. Gold is the base game plus the Season Pass, and the piece that matters is the X Games content: sanctioned Big Air, Slopestyle and SuperPipe events where runs get scored instead of just timed, plus the gear and outfit packs that shipped alongside. If trick scoring is the reason you are here, that is the one to pick. If you mostly want to freeride, take photos and drop into other players' lines, the standard edition loses you nothing but wardrobe. The mountains are the same either way.
