Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova

I went in expecting a tie-in cash grab, and Supernova isn't quite that bad. The co-op campaign runs decent netcode for local or online play, and the combat loops, gunplay mixed with light puzzle-solving, don't fumble the basics. Weapon variety is thin, though, and the time-to-kill feels padded. If you've watched the show, there's charm in the character arcs. If you haven't, you're staring at a 4-6 hour action game with forgettable gunfeel and forgettable enemy design. This is a "play it with a friend who loves Star Trek" game, not a "this stands on its own" game. The ranked ladder doesn't exist, so there's no replayability hook for competitive players. Performance holds up fine on PC, but the whole experience feels like an extended episode rather than a title worth your gaming shelf space.
