GamerScout Verdict
For retro arcade fans willing to tolerate bare-bones design in exchange for fast, straightforward dogfighting.

About Star Raiders
Star Raiders is a lean arcade space shooter. You fly missions against the Zylons, chain kills for score, and that's the loop. No story, no progression systems, no unlocks, just you, your ship, and waves of enemies. The flight controls are snappy, and the action moves fast enough to scratch that old-school arcade itch if you're into high-score chasing. The problem: there's almost nothing here. Three or four mission types, minimal variety in enemy design, and no reason to come back after you've burned through the campaign in an hour or two. It's a classic case of a good kernel of an idea that never got fleshed out. If you want pure dogfighting with zero fluff, it delivers. If you want any meat on the bones, look elsewhere.
