Star Horizon
Two hours of tidy on-rails space shooting where the upgrade menu carries more weight than your trigger finger. Charming, slight, over before it commits to anything.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for pad-in-hand players wanting a two-hour sci-fi shooter, not for anyone hunting mechanical depth.
Compare Prices(3 stores)
Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Star Horizon
What this asks of you is an afternoon and almost nothing else. No build orders to memorize, no systems to chart, no failure states that demand a restart from turn one. You are moved through each corridor of space on a fixed track, you aim, you dodge into a lane, and between missions you spend credits on hull, shields, cannons and missiles. That upgrade screen is the only place real decisions live, and to the game's credit the choices there do change how a run feels: leaning into missiles turns boss encounters into patience tests, stacking cannon damage turns them into reflex checks. Controller support is solid, the tutorial genuinely walks you in, and the sci-fi story keeps its voice light instead of self-serious. The problem is the ceiling. There is no strategic layer under the shooting, the enemy patterns repeat well before the credits, and once the ship is kitted out the last stretch stops asking questions. The Mixed Steam rating tracks with that: nobody feels cheated, plenty feel underfed. If you want a low-commitment sci-fi shooter to clear in one sitting on a pad, it delivers exactly that and no more.
