The store page frames this as an expansion module, and that is exactly what it is: a rules add-on that will not launch by itself, so you need the base Splendor installed to get anything at all out of it. What it layers on is the Trading Posts board, a row of bonus powers you unlock by hitting set thresholds in your card and token counts, which turns the usual gem-engine race into a slightly nastier question about which discount you chase first. Where reality parts from the pitch is scope. This is one board's worth of new rules, not new modes, and it plugs into the same single-player, online PvP and pass-and-play setups the base game already runs.
