About Spirit of the North
I spent three hours with Spirit of the North expecting narrative weight, but found something quieter: a meditative walk through impossible landscapes with a red fox as your silent guide. There's no dialogue, no cutscenes, just you exploring rocky fjords and bioluminescent caverns while a gentle score swells around you. The camera does the storytelling. Infuse Studio clearly visited Iceland and translated that awe into every misty valley and lichen-covered stone. The catch is pacing. This is less game and more gallery tour with light platforming. If you need constant objectives or combat, move on. But if you're someone who sat still for Outer Wilds or Journey, who hears a synth pad and feels the ache of beauty, Spirit of the North knows exactly what you came for. It ends when it should and doesn't overstay its welcome.
