GamerScout Verdict
Solid arcade roguelike for players who chase high scores and don't need story between runs.

About Skyflower
I went in expecting a roguelike grind, and Skyflower mostly delivers that. It's a vertical gauntlet where you shoot through enemies, dodge traps, and work out environmental puzzles on your way up. The permanent death mechanic means each run resets you to the bottom, which either hooks you into chase-the-high-score mode or frustrates you depending on how much you value progression locks. The core loop is tight enough for short sessions. Combat feels responsive, and the puzzle-to-action balance keeps you from just holding down the fire button. But there's not much narrative spine or character progression to chase between attempts. It's purely about improving your reflexes and memorizing patterns. That's fine if you're chasing arcade highs; less so if you want your roguelike to give you reasons to keep climbing beyond personal bests.
