About Sister Other Paranoia
If you played Doki Doki Literature Club and walked away thinking the horror was in the format tricks, Sister Other Paranoia works the opposite way. There are no meta stunts here. HazeDenki (writer nyalra) just puts you inside the head of a light novel author who starts hearing what everyone actually thinks of him, and lets that slowly hollow him out. The reading is the whole interaction: text, portraits, a soundscape that mostly stays out of the way until it doesn't. His younger sister is the one relationship the mind-reading can't fully poison, and the game keeps circling that with a patience I respect. What works is the restraint. It knows it's a few hours long and never pads. What disappoints depends on what you want from a game: there is very little to do, choices are scarce, and the translated prose occasionally lands flat where it should cut. The 81% score reads about right to me. It's for people who read visual novels for the discomfort, not the branching.
