Shiver

I found Shiver buried in the Kinguin vault, and it's the kind of small adventure game that modern horror tends to overlook. Rather than cheap scares, it builds atmosphere through exploration and discovery in a confined, unsettling space. The game leans on environmental storytelling and puzzle-solving to create tension, letting you piece together what's happening instead of having it thrust at you. It's slow, deliberate, and clearly made on a tight budget. The catch: low production values mean clunky interfaces and dated visuals that won't appeal to everyone. If you're looking for polished AAA scares, this isn't it. But if you value mood over spectacle and have patience for indie rough edges, Shiver scratches an itch that bigger games leave alone.
