You play Zhao Gou, the Southern Song emperor most Chinese history buffs love to argue about, rebuilding a court out of the wreckage of the Jingkang disaster. The strategy label is about choices at the throne, court factions, war-or-peace calls, not a simulation engine you can break with a clever build order. What works is the pressure of the choice architecture: decisions compound across the campaign and the branching rewards a second run. What disappoints is replay friction (you will rewatch a lot of footage), a thin on-ramp for the court systems, no mod scene to extend it, and a scope that wraps up far faster than a grand strategy habit expects. Check language support before you commit.
