GamerScout Verdict
Niche tactical mechanics buried under poor onboarding and muddled feedback, pass unless you enjoy reverse-engineering games.

About Shadoworlds
Shadoworlds puts you in command of a four-person team exploring a darkened research facility. The isometric view and squad controls suggest tactical depth, but the game suffers from unclear feedback loops and UI that assumes you'll reverse-engineer how abilities work. Enemy placement and turn order aren't always obvious, and the mystery unfolding around the facility's purpose moves glacially. If you're willing to tolerate sluggish pacing and tutorial-free learning curves, there's a competent tactical skeleton here. The problem is that "competent" doesn't justify the friction. Build variety exists but stays opaque, and AI teammates feel more like meat shields than squad members. It's a game that needed another year in the oven.
