About S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Prypiat
Call of Prypiat strips away the open-world sandbox that defined the original trilogy and commits instead to a structured narrative: you're Major Degtyarev, a special forces investigator tasked with uncovering what happened to a missing expedition. The shift toward narrative focus means tighter level design and clearer objectives, but it also means less of that lonely, unguided wandering through radiation-soaked landscapes that made S.T.A.L.K.E.R. special. Combat remains serviceable if unspectacular, and the Chornobyl setting still carries weight, but don't expect the same sandbox freedom or emergent storytelling you'd get from Stalker or Shadow of Chornobyl. This works best if you're chasing narrative closure within the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe and can accept a more guided experience. It's not a bad game, just a different beast from what the series built its reputation on.
