S.O.L Search of Light
A roguelite where every turn spent gathering is a turn not spent fortifying, and the math catches up with you around night four. Short, mean, and refreshingly honest about it.
GamerScout Verdict
A sharp weekend-length turn-economy puzzle for strategy players who want brutal math without a 200-hour commitment.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About S.O.L Search of Light
Night three, I had eight wood, a half-built barricade, and a scout standing idle because I'd budgeted my turns like someone who assumed tomorrow would be generous. It wasn't. The village burned, and the run ended in under an hour, which is exactly the point. S.O.L Search of Light hands you a steampunk-tinged dark fantasy settlement, a fixed number of actions per cycle, and a monster clock that does not negotiate. Resource gathering, construction, and defensive prep all draw from the same pool, so the real decision layer is opportunity cost rather than unit micromanagement. The run-based structure is its best feature and its ceiling. Losses cost you an evening, not a weekend, and each restart sharpens your build order, which makes it far more welcoming to strategy newcomers than the genre tags suggest. What it lacks is depth beyond that curve: once the efficient opening clicks, the campaign is short, the branching is thin, and there's no mod scene or scenario variety to extend it. Controller support is solid. Come for a taut week of optimizing a doomed village, not for a permanent slot on your hard drive.
