Romeo Is A Dead Man
Grasshopper Manufacture's most confident sci-fi action game in years rewards players who can roll with chaos, four chocolate-named difficulty tiers and all.
GamerScout Verdict
Built for players who want action with genuine punk personality and can tolerate a story that refuses to explain itself neatly.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Romeo Is A Dead Man
I went in expecting peak Suda51 weirdness and still wasn't ready for it. Romeo Is a Dead Man casts you as Romeo Stargazer, a small-town deputy turned half-dead cybernetic super-agent for the FBI's Space-Time Police, hunting criminals across dimensions while chasing the mystery of a woman named Juliet Dendrobium. That premise sounds like a pitch meeting that ran off the rails, and the game leans into that energy hard for every minute of its runtime. Combat is the clearest reason to be here. You get eight weapons total, four melee and four ranged, ranging from heavy swords to rocket launchers, and the interplay between them builds toward a Blood gauge system called Bloody Summers that rewards aggressive switching rather than camping one loadout. The catch is that weapon upgrades run on a scarce resource called Sentrey, so spreading investment too thin leaves you under-equipped for the harder encounters. Enemies hit hard at higher difficulties and demand you actually master attack patterns rather than button-mash through them. The optional Palace Athene dungeon exists specifically to stress-test your build if the main path isn't punishing you enough. Difficulty tiers run from White Chocolate through Orange Chocolate, with a mystery fourth unlocked after completion, and the naming is exactly as Grasshopper as it sounds. There is also a Souls-adjacent save structure where Space-Time Pharmacies heal you but respawn enemies, adding some tension to resource decisions. The presentation is where the game fully commits to being a different animal every few minutes. The hub, a spaceship called the Last Night, runs in a retro top-down visual style with NPCs, minigames, and even a four-paddle Pong variant tucked away. Combat sections shift into third-person action with dynamic camera work and an exceptional soundtrack. Story beats come through motion comics with voice acting alongside full cutscenes. It is a lot of styles fighting for the same screen, and the honest review is that they don't always cohere. Some critics found the level design archaic and the later story resolution thin, delivered through written notes rather than proper scenes. The camera can clip into geometry during fights. On higher difficulties, some enemy encounters drift into damage-sponge territory. None of that fully undermines what Grasshopper is doing here. This is their first original IP since spending years wrapping up No More Heroes, and it plays like a studio that has been saving up ideas and finally got to spend them all at once. Players who bounced off No More Heroes or Shadows of the Damned for being too loose or too referential will probably bounce off this too. But if you have any history with this studio's output and wondered whether they still had the spark, Romeo Is a Dead Man answers that question loudly and with a laser sword.
