RiMS Racing - European Manufacturers Deluxe

My first hours with RiMS Racing were genuinely humbling. I came in expecting a motorcycle racer with some tuning sprinkled on top. What I found instead was a game that treats component-level bike maintenance as a core mechanic, not a side menu. You are not just racing these machines - you are managing their wear, pulling into pit stops mid-race to replace parts via button-prompt sequences, and rebuilding your setup between events. That is either the most exciting thing you have read in a racing game description this year, or a hard pass. There is very little middle ground here. On track, the feel is genuinely strong. The physics model takes time to click but once it does, the handling has a weight and consequence to it that casual racers lack entirely. Difficulty settings range from beginner assists up to full simulated physics, so the learning curve is steep but not a cliff. The bike audio is a highlight - engine notes, throttle-off pops, and mechanical sounds are all recreated with real care, and the bikes themselves are modeled in extraordinary detail. The roster is slim, just eight machines including names like BMW, Aprilia, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, but each one is packed with individual components you can swap, upgrade, and test. The European Manufacturers pack bundled in this edition adds rider suits, liveries, and extra bikes from the continent, rounding out the factory feel. The problems are real, though, and they cluster in predictable places. The AI is erratic and drew consistent criticism at launch. Environments have visible pop-in and the overall visual presentation of menus and career screens feels underdone for the price of admission. The career mode offers a solid calendar of events - brand races, academy showcases, one-on-one face-offs, championship runs - but the structure between races lacks personality. You shuffle from event to event without much narrative glue holding it together. The session memory bug, where custom race settings reset each time you exit to the main menu, was a persistent annoyance flagged by the community. The Bloody Beetroots Specials DLC and Career Pro Starter Pack included here add some cosmetic and progression flavor, but they do not fix any of the structural roughness. The split-screen multiplayer is a genuine surprise - not many sim-leaning racers bother with it anymore, and it works. Online PvP lobbies exist but the community has always been thin, so managing expectations there is wise. For solo players grinding through the career and genuinely enjoying the loop of racing, analyzing component wear, and tuning setups between sessions, there is a decent chunk of content here. For players who want to jump on a bike and feel fast immediately, this will frustrate from the first lap. RiMS Racing does one thing exceptionally well: it makes you care about the machine underneath you in a way almost no other motorcycle game attempts. That specificity is both its biggest strength and the reason the Steam reviews sit at a mixed 58 percent. It is a niche product with genuine ambition, and the European Manufacturers Deluxe edition is the right version if you have already decided you want in.
