GamerScout Verdict
For retro FPS completionists willing to overlook uneven design for dark humor and pixelated creature chaos.

About REVEREND
I spent a couple hours with REVEREND expecting a straightforward throwback to 90s shooter excess. The bones are there: fast-paced movement, grotesque enemy designs, and darkly comedic religious-horror theming that swings for shock value. The pixel art is genuinely creepy, and the weapon variety keeps encounters from feeling stale. Problem is, the level design lacks the spatial intelligence of its inspirations, enemy AI is predictable, and the joke wears thin when the writing leans too hard on edginess without wit to back it up. If you're specifically hungry for obscure retro FPS material and forgiving of rough edges, REVEREND scratches that itch. Everyone else should test the waters before committing.
