About République
République asks for patience long before it asks for reflexes. You are a voice on the other end of a hacked camera network, and every move Hope makes depends on you scouting the next room before she steps into it. You never control her the way an action game trains you to expect. Instead you hop between cameras, swipe guards' phones, pop doors from a distance, and hoover up the banned books and audio logs scattered around the facility to work out why this surveillance state exists at all. The conceit works. The execution shows its mobile roots: five episodes of uneven pacing, stiff animation, and stealth that can collapse into trial and error when a patrol catches you from an angle no camera covers. What survives is the atmosphere and a voice cast that genuinely sells the paranoia. Come for the premise and the mood, not for mechanical sharpness, and it holds up as a curiosity worth a weekend.
