Redactem
A 2D platformer where time-rewind and gravity manipulation replace traditional jumping, clever puzzle design hobbled by finicky controls and a tutorial that assumes too much.
GamerScout Verdict
Clever mechanic concept undermined by loose controls, a curious experiment worth a dollar, not a session.

About Redactem
I've spent enough time with precision platformers to recognize when a game has genuinely novel mechanics versus gimmicks. Redactem's core loop, rewind time and flip gravity to solve level layouts, is legitimately inventive. The puzzle architecture feels intentional, rewarding players who think about physics rather than reflexes. Controller support is a plus, and the visual feedback for gravity shifts is clean enough. The catch is execution. Input lag and floaty movement make the platforming sections feel disconnected from your inputs, turning what should be satisfying gravity puzzles into frustrating struggle sessions. The tutorial glosses over why certain mechanic combos matter, leaving newcomers guessing. For a sub-5 dollar indie title, it's a bold concept, but the implementation doesn't quite stick the landing.
