About Red Planet: Survive
I approached Red Planet: Survive expecting a narrative-driven survival story. Instead, I got a first-person resource grind where the Martian atmosphere is genuinely the antagonist. Your suit degrades, oxygen depletes, and one miscalculation kills you fast. That pressure is the game's strongest asset, but the survival loop itself is thin: scavenge, manage inventory, repeat. The interface feels unpolished, tutorial guidance is minimal, and the world lacks personality or story hooks that might justify grinding through its systems. It's early access from 2017, and it shows. Red Planet works best as a pure endurance challenge for players who want environmental survival stripped to basics, no handholding. Everyone else will find the repetition exhausting and the presentation too rough to carry it. There are better survival experiences out there.
