Real Anime Situation! DT
If your tolerance for a comedy romance visual novel hinges entirely on whether you find a curse-prone protagonist charming, this one will either click instantly or wear thin fast.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for VN fans who want comedy and sharp heroine dynamics over heavy drama, with Ena's route as the clear high point.

About Real Anime Situation! DT
My first read-through of Real Anime Situation! DT left me with a clear picture of what Jitaku Studio is going for: a deliberately absurdist romantic comedy built around one joke stretched across multiple heroine routes. Protagonist Shun suffers from what his sister cheerfully dubs "Flag Crush Syndrome" - a condition that causes every budding romance in his life to spectacularly implode at the last second. It is a solid comedic premise, and the opening stretch sells it well with a string of increasingly ridiculous near-misses before the actual story kicks in. The structure is a branching visual novel with four routes, one of which splits to give you five possible endings total. Heroines include classmate Ena, childhood friend Hinano, and senior Ayane, with two additional characters, Nayuta and Matsuri, unlocking after you clear at least one route. Expect somewhere between ten and fifteen-plus hours of reading across a full playthrough of all routes. Choices matter in the sense that they determine which heroine you end up with, but the common route feeds into all paths, so early replays can drag once the shared content stops being fresh. The Steam version carries mosaic censorship on explicit scenes, while 18-plus editions are available separately through other storefronts. Where DT earns genuine credit is in how it handles the heroine dynamics. Rather than having rivals quietly disappear once one wins, the cast stays involved and competitive throughout, which keeps the comedy alive and gives the game a livelier energy than most VNs in this space. Ena stands out as the most fully realized character - she drives the story forward, has a game-design subplot that adds actual texture to her route, and lands most of the game's better emotional beats. A word of caution: play Hinano's route after Ena's, not before, because the ordering spoils a reveal that works much better the other way around. Outside of Ena's route, the writing settles into a fairly predictable rhythm that some players will find comfortable and others will find repetitive. There are funny moments scattered throughout, but the stretches between them can test patience. Artwork is the other clear highlight. Vibrant 2D character designs, animated sequences for key scenes, and reportedly around 49 CG scenes across the full cast give the production values a polish that outpaces a lot of comparably priced indie VNs. If you are coming into this as a series fan, it stands alone fine - prior entries are referenced but not required reading. If you are new to the franchise and enjoy comedic romance VNs where the character banter and absurd premise do more heavy lifting than plot depth, there is enough here to recommend.
