I went into Rapala Fishing expecting a bare-bones cash-in on the license. Instead, I found a game that takes rod feel and casting seriously. The lure variety actually matters - different setups handle differently, and learning when to twitch versus steadily reel rewards patience. Multiple water types and fish species keep the core loop from getting stale too quickly. The catch: visuals haven't aged well since 2017, the UI feels clunky, and there's not much meat beyond the core fishing loop. If you're after authentic sim mechanics rather than arcade thrills, this delivers. But it's niche even within fishing game circles. Best as a winter afternoon time-sink for sim enthusiasts who've already maxed out their other options.
