About Random Access Murder
I went in expecting a gimmick and found something genuinely weird. Random Access Murder strips multiplayer shooters to their core: you, enemy robots, and a shared memory limit that shrinks as you accumulate corpses. Run out of RAM and you're done. The asymmetry is clever, every kill is a victory lap that slowly poisons the arena. It rewards positioning and restraint over twitch reflexes. But here's the catch: the execution feels unpolished even for 2016. Netcode hiccups, unbalanced weapon spawns, and a playerbase that evaporated years ago mean you're fighting server ghosts. If you catch a live match, the core loop is satisfying. Solo, it's a shell. The 23% Steam rating isn't unfair, but it's harsher than the idea deserves.
