About Rage In Peace
Rage in Peace is a side-scrolling action adventure built around a genuinely strange premise: Timmy Malinu, the world's most ordinary accountant, learns he is destined to die today. His one wish is to make it home alive, put on his onesie, and go peacefully in his sleep. The universe, naturally, has other plans. What follows is a parade of absurd, creative, and often brutal obstacles that will kill you repeatedly, each death more creative than the last. This is very much a game that treats death as punchline, plot point, and mechanic all at once. The gameplay sits somewhere between a precision platformer and a light action game, with a heavy emphasis on memorization and pattern recognition. Expect to die a lot, especially in the early stages where surprises lurk around every corner. Once the shock of each new hazard wears off, the section becomes manageable, almost rhythmic. The loop is closer to a comic book beat-em-up crossed with a trap-gauntlet than anything resembling a traditional platformer. Rolling Glory Jam clearly had a tight creative vision here, and the level design supports that vision even when it frustrates you. What elevates Rage in Peace above its mechanical simplicity is the tone. The writing is warm and absurdist without ever becoming mean-spirited. Timmy is an immediately likeable everyman, and watching the world conspire against his modest dream carries genuine emotional weight. The hand-drawn art style is expressive and full of personality, each environment shifting in mood and palette as the day progresses. The soundtrack does the heavy lifting when the visuals dial back, cycling through tracks that match the game's tonal swings between slapstick and melancholy with real precision. The honest caveats: if pure mechanical depth is what you seek, Rage in Peace will run out of new tricks before you run out of patience. It is intentionally short, around three to four hours on a first run, which means the replay value is limited once you know where all the traps sit. Some players will also find the early wall of unexpected deaths offputting before the memorization loop clicks. The game earns its runtime by knowing exactly when to stop, a discipline more developers should exercise. Nothing here overstays its welcome. For players who connect with story-driven indie experiences, particularly ones that explore mortality with a light touch and a sharp visual identity, this is the kind of small gem that rewards the time you give it. The 87% positive rating on Steam reflects a game that clearly lands for the people it is aimed at. If you appreciate handcrafted indie work that carries real emotional intent inside a compact package, Rage in Peace deserves a spot on your radar. Kai, Scout Team
